An American Cynicism
Sharon and I are laying here in bed. We were just looking at some collages that she had put together 4 years ago. Looking at the pictures we realized how cynical we really all were. I must say, Bush did a masterful job of convincing us and the rest of the world that he and Gore were more alike that not. Now, nearly four years later, it is BLATANTLY obvious how different the two candidates really are.
Bush's promises of compassionate conservatism, carrying for the average Joe, and what not was more bullshit than what you would expect out of the average candidate. He played the country and his supporters like a fiddle, telling everyone what they wanted to hear to get into office. Four years later, the world being an entirely different place, the facts speak for themselves. The man has done little or none of what he campaigned on.
Instead, he's waged three wars, Afghanistan, Iraq, and our Civil Liberties. He's created the biggest national deficit breaking all other historical records, and has single-handedly take the most support and compassion the world has ever known for the United States and turned it into animosity, distrust, and disgust. God Bless you Mr. Bush, thanks for everything you've done. We all really appreciate it.
All I can say is that I cannot wait for the National Debates and the National Elections. I'm looking forward to Kerry calling Bush out on the mat on his record. I count the days to this election. I cannot wait to see what's going to happen. The stakes are high and the race is extremely close. The only thing that I hope is that Bush doesn't try and cheat to steal the election. The thing I fear the most is that he does, people know about it, and nothing happens. The controversy that surrounded the last election was great, but there was doubt. I fear that if he does cheat, he will be far more transparent about his intentions. If that doesn't enrage Americans and urge him to be removed, then I do not know what will.
Anyway, that's me signing off. I'm going to go off to bed now. Good evening.
