I hope that you're all as thrilled as I am to find that there is a conscience in the Republican party, after all. Last night, Republican and Democratic Senators reached a compromise that averted the "nuclear option" from being exercised.

Many right-wing Republicans were infuriated by the break-away Republicans who listened to their conscience more than their party leaders. I'm happy to hear such people exist and I wish that they would do so more frequently.

Perhaps the break-away was part of a larger re-election strategy for these individuals. Coincidently, the results of a survey were released, giving Bush, Republicans, and Democrats all very low scores on overall satisfaction. The country views the Republicans as spoiled brats. I have to say, I couldn't be happier to hear it.

Perhaps we're not as blind as I once believed. Thank goodness.

  1. Gee, they DIDN'T go along with completely dismantling our democracy? And all they wanted in return was 100% of Bush's judicial picks to go through? Yeah, they're real heroes.

    Hi Steve!

  2. compromise is better than nothing. Given the leverage the Republican party has right now, I'd rather livee to fight another day.
